We had the opportunity last week to do the event videography for the second annual Re:Write, a writer’s conference hosted by The Fedd Agency to “help writers rediscover their voice and reinvent their approach in order to find resilience in a marketplace that is both struggling and exhilarating.” It was held this year at the Renaissance Hotel at the Arboretum. Working with Esther Fedorkevich and her sister Ruth Chodniewicz to capture the weekend event in Austin, Texas was an incredible experience. Escape Plan filmed all the talks and dinners, shot exclusive interviews with the speakers, and captured video of the event as well as interviews with attendees. Cameras were rolling almost constantly over the two and a half days while we also edited a highlight video of the event that screened at the end of the conference.
The conference also gave Escape Plan Productions a chance to market our new Book Trailers service. With eReaders like the iPad and Amazon Kindle gaining traction, it becomes even more important in capturing audience’s attention through a book trailer on the author’s and publisher’s website and social media.
Keynote speakers this year included best-selling authors Mark Batterson, Ted Dekker, and Lysa TerKeurst. The talks were relevant, insightful, and inspiring to writers as well as informative of the industry and what it takes to make it. The key slogan this year was “Seize the future”, and that ambition seems truly attainable from the full experience, resources, and networking of Re:Write 2013. As we work on the editing and post-production of the series of videos that will roll out in the following months, we encourage writers everywhere to mark their calendars for attending Re:Write 2014 in Austin!
