Escape Plan Productions is 3 years old as of this August and as we’ve grown and now are based out of our office at Createscape Coworking, we are happy to be bringing on our new intern from the UK, Tim Fitzgerald. A recent collegiate graduate, Tim will be with us in Austin for the next 6 months learning from our process pre-production through post. We would like to welcome Tim, and here is his introduction statement:
I’m Tim, I’m a recent graduate of The University of Chichester in the UK, and I’m an audio engineer and sound designer working with Escape Plan for the next six months! I’m from a city in England called Birmingham, but I studied Digital Film Production on the south coast of the UK, and Now I’m interning with Escape Plan until February 2015.
I started working with sound design about 5 or 6 years ago when I started writing electronic using FL Studio 9 and really getting to grips with synthesized sound design, and I really tried to push my boundaries on what I could do with the software available to me. Approximately 3 years ago I moved over to Ableton and have not left there since, but I am branching out to using other tools for creating audio for both short films and video games, such as Izotope RX3 for repairing audio, and Protools for editing.
Over the last 4 years I have worked on a number of short films leading the audio production from the very start of the process (planning, script breakdowns and so on), onto the actual production of the films, and finally the editing. I have worked in a number of genres from documentary, to comedy, and dramas, so I’m super excited to see what I can explore while working in Texas!
